Lunch/Hike/Tombstone

Been a few days since I've posted, so you'll be getting 3 outings in 1 post.....

Last Sunday another couple from our church back home were traveling through our area and contacted us to meet up for lunch.  It was a very relaxing visit with Kaye and Duane Beals.

Made another trip up the mountain.....this hike took about 2 1/2 hours.  Went to the base of the mountain.  Beautiful hike.....but oh my was I wore out that night!!!  LOL

While our trail to the top is a little more rugged than this one, this still made me feel good for this man.  He was 94 years old and had a 68 year old nurse with him.  Praise him for going strong!!  Even if he was on a good path it was still climbing!!!  Wonder if we'll be able to do that when we are 94!!??

Long way down to the city...

Not much farther for me....hiking is one thing, rock climbing is another....

Up bright and early and off for 185 mile trip to Tombstone.  Gotta check out the gunfight at the OK Corral!!! Glad we did, it was a fun trip.

Steve has always wanted to walk through the swinging doors of a saloon....got his wish today...at Big Nose Kate's Saloon.... (don't ask cause I don't know)

Prospector.....don't think there's any gold or silver left to be found though..

Crystal Palace Saloon for lunch.....the wooden bar was absolutely beautiful...

Wanna take a stagecoach ride....several in town...

Virgil Earp, town Marshall at the time of the shootout....

One of the outlaws....

Doc Holiday, Wyatt Earp and Virgil Earp.

Morgan Earp, Wyatt and Doc...

3 dead and 3 wounded after the shootout....

After the skit was over Bev and I got our pics with the "good guys"......
Doc, Wyatt, Bev, Virgil, me and Morgan

This is suppose to be the exact spot the fight took place.....who knows...

Ready for buggy rides....

Original courthouse....

On up to Boothill to check out the cemetery.....

Suppose to be the graves of the outlaws killed in the OK Corral shootout...

Lots of unknowns....wonder how that happens...

Bev doesn't like Indians...and here is why..... LOL

Our turn....

On a lighter note....Bev was taught how to shoot a 45.....think she hit 4 or 5 targets....good job!!

Being goofballs trying to figure out our "selfie" sticks.....had quite a few good laughs over those....but we did manage to get some pics from them.....

Well, this was a fun trip, even though it was quite a distance, I think we are all glad that we went.  Not a place you'd need to repeat but glad you go once.  Today was laundry and tomorrow is Tortilla Flats for lunch to sit outside and listen to band.  I know there are plenty of picks on here of that so doubt you'll see any pics tomorrow.  Our time is getting close to ending.  Sure has flown by.  But I'm ready to see my family.  So watch for further posts and we'll be seeing you soon.  Love you all.
