Jean Lafitte National Cemetery

Today was a sort of lazy day.  Drove around a little to this cemetery and went to a movie...recommend
The Fighter.
We drove the truck onto a ferry for a ride over to the Jean Lafitte National Cemetery today.  My first vehicle ferry ride.  Not too bad....where are the lifejackets!!

Inside the National Cemetery....Civil War Vets, lots of unknown soldiers, we did see a Vietnam stone also.

Sayin` goodbye to the New Orleans campsite after tonight.....it has been a great spot for us to be able to get around and yet away from the city.
this is the new levee they are building around the park, lots of work still left to do ...
swampy area in campground......didn't see any gators though!!! That's a good thing.
Galveston here we come......hope it's a little warmer there, although I guess 43 is better than it is at home right now.   : >)

My father's side of the family is supposed to have a blood connection to the pirate Jean Lafitte.
