Well today was our last day to venture downtown. Went to the Cathedral and stood for the Cattle Drive Parade which starts the beginning of Rodeo season here.
This Cathedral holds the remains of Travis, Crockett and Bowie from the Alamo. They were exhumed in 1936 and kept in view for the public for 1 year and then reburied here in the Cathedral in 1938.
Can you find the biggest or should I say oldest kid waiting on the parade?
They drove about 50 head of cattle down the street representing the old cattle drive that use to come through town years ago.
Never seen a parade with sooooo many horses....some were beautiful
this is the caison wagon with a riderless horse.....
and where you have cowboys you have to have Indians. This is Chief Tail Feathers....(I just gave him that name!)
and of course their has to be a lasso
AND after the parade we went to the Flea Market and walked for a couple hours....only bought some kettle corn and sweet, sweet oranges....
These are for Chuck....we have this golf couse right behind our trailer....this pic isn't too good but the next one isn't bad. Hard to get pics through the trees....
Well, guys that'll be it for San Antonio. We have truly enjoyed our time here. Beautiful city with plenty to do. I recommend it to all. Tomorrow is laundry day and mapping Monday's trip. Hope you're all staying well and warm. Blessings.
