Old Town Scottsdale

Made a trip to Old Town Scottsdale today and did some shopping and sightseeing.  What a beautiful area.  So clean and statues around with blooming flowers.

One of the streets with lots of little shops....

One of the Indian statues...if you read close you'll see it was built by "Elk Woman"

The first Catholic Church built in Scottsdale, which at the time consisted of a 2 block radius....I'd say it's grown some since then....  The church has been taken back over by a group that is trying to restore it to it's original design and condition.  All of the stain glass windows had been removed and boarded up but someone discovered them and refurbished them and replaced them back in the windows. The Boy Scout group in the area has taken it upon themselves to help and have done a lot to get things back to original.

Someone is ALWAYS taking our pic.....

Winfield and Helen Scott on their mule "Old Maud".....Chaplain Scott started the area now known as Scottsdale...

Sooooo many spices and dips to choose from......

What we thought was a statue on a bench that Steve had been sitting on an hour earlier and it wasn't there.  We thought "well they moved it from inside and put it there".....about that time....it moved and we all screamed and jumped!!!!  If he had known how full my bladder was he never would have done that to me!!!

creepy.......

Paul is doing much better. Doubt I'll ever get him to help me again, especially if there is an iron involved!  Tomorrow is a down day, gonna get some things around here done...so not sure if there will be pics.  But check to see.  Hear you are having another round of snow.....be careful and try to stay warm.  Missing all of you.
